Reinberg is committed to offering quality pure-bred German Shepherd puppies for sale, and desires to personally connect with our dogs, as well as with our clients in finding the perfect matches for each family. Our goal is to remain true to the breed and thus provide your family the best experience possible - a delightful and exceptionally tempered dog who will become your family’s best friend for years to come. Our bloodlines include world class Sieger dogs, our parents have "a" stamp certified hips and elbows from Germany, and all dogs and puppies are AKC registered.

Pure-bred German Shepherds prove to have better personalities, better pedigrees with generations of perfect hips and elbows, and provide owners with a delightful and joyful experience as they serve them as loyal pets. We believe Germany to hold higher standards than America when it comes to hips and elbows, so we paid significantly more in money and time to make sure our breeding dogs have A-Stamp certification from Germany. This sets apart our puppies from many breeders in the States.

At Reinberg, we know that you are the kind of people who want to be diligent in finding the best pet for your family - you want quality and you understand the value of how you spend your money.
In order to be that way, you need to understand the German Shepherd breed (and its lingo) and why there is such variety in pricing, breeders, and promises that can be found on various websites. The problem is that so much information available online assumes you already understand the value of the breed, terminology and abbreviations, and it can be easy to become impressed and/or overwhelmed by the confusing language. We believe in providing not only quality dogs, but clear explanations of the value of our dogs and an understanding of the pedigree and breed lingo.
We understand what it’s like to desire to find a good tempered quality dog, and to be overwhelmed by the conflicting information available. That's why we focus on excellence in personal connection with our clients as well as our dog breeding.

1.) Click on the Contact Us form to start a conversation with us, and we will be in touch soon to answer questions and concerns, and possibly schedule an appointment for you to come meet our family - including the dogs!
2.) Review our Buyer/Seller Contract, which includes a Health Guarantee, and send us a signed copy with your $500 deposit to get on our reservation list.
3.) We commit to keeping you informed in the process. We will email with updates about breeding, pregnancy confirmation, and litter arrival. In addition, we will add you to a Google Photos Album where you can watch your puppy grow.
4.) We provide temperament evaluations to you at the 7 week mark, along with a vet check-up report (regarding any heart murmurs, umbilical hernias, digestive worms, etc.). These are tools to aid you in choosing your puppy.
5.) You arrive on selection day in the order of your reservation and choose your puppy! We will send you home with a box of goodies to help you get started on your journey of transitioning your new puppy into your home!

The three week mark for Jilli and Rio’s litter brings with it some changes! They now have a potty tray in their box, and they started their puppy shake for the first time. This is a blend of goat milk, cottage cheese, and whole milk yogurt. Our litters always LOVE it, and it begins transitioning them to puppy kibble mush coming later.

We do these around day 50 in order to provide clients with as much temperament information and compatibility as possible with each individual puppy
These evaluations allow us to score:
- assertiveness
- confidence
- motivation level
- nerve strength/resiliency
- touch tolerance
- energy level
- sound and sight sensitivity
- prey drive
- human focus
- tenderheartedness
- dog friendliness
Of course puppies can and will change, and this is just a tool that is not meant to be the sole determinant of a puppy’s placement. We simply use it to provide some video footage and scores on the above areas for families as we seek together to make the best choice for each family.

Jilli and Rio’s litter are ten days old! They are still sleeping a good bit, but are moving around a little more and their eyes and ears open this week! Their muscles twitch in their sleep, which help them develop for future usage. Such a fun stage! They are almost done with their ENS exercises and are doing well and growing.
The theme our family chose for this litter is National Parks! Any guesses which parks these little ones are named after…?
⭐️ 4 week old toddler daytime play area set-up ⭐️
We continue potty training this week, introduce open door crate training, allow puppies a larger play-space with more novelty items (like small stuffed animals), and continue their weaning process by offering them food and water. They are doing so well with it and taking on each new task with confidence!
Look who I spent the afternoon with yesterday…Welcoming these brand new Reinberg puppies into the world. This is Jilli and Rio’s litter and they are doing so well!

Our puppies LOVE their “shake” and usually figure out what to do with it very quickly. We start them on it around the 3-4 week mark when they have teeth and know how to lap.
They also got their poultry waterer today, which allows them to drink without getting soaked. 😅
We are continuing their potty training- notice how some still see it as a fun napping spot. 😂 They will continue to figure it out!
I realized we never announced the theme of Rio and Nia’s winter litter- here is their NFL Playoff Picture litter!
At the time that they were born, our boys talked us into the theme of NFL Playoff Picture, so we chose the 6 teams who were in the Playoff Picture at the time of their birth, and assigned their names from there. It’s interesting to see how this picture has already changed quite a bit! (If you’re a Cowboys fan, this may hurt, but oh, well - we’ve dealt with it before, haven’t we?! Ha). So, here is Rio and Nia’s 2024 Playoff Picture Litter:

Heidi! That is the new name for this beautiful purple collared female that went to her new home yesterday! I received this text this morning:
“Heidi (yep we have named her) did great last night! Trip home was uneventful and she slept. Slept in kennel without a sound, all night! She is already loving us and we are enjoying her so much! Thanks for all your time with us yesterday and caring for her until we got her! It was a pleasure doing business with you.”

SO excited to see this wonderful family choose two littermates for their home! Their new names are now Pepper (red collar) and Penny (gold collar) from Rio and Leeli’s Anne of Green Gables litter, and they are settling in with the most delightful family.
People ask all the time if it’s hard to see the puppies leave our kennel. Although we miss each personality and enjoy them while they are here, it is SO fun to see them chosen and loved by their own family where they get specific attention.
New week, new whelping box, new training!
Nia and Rio’s NFL Playoff Picture litter is experiencing many firsts this week in their puppy curriculum:
🐾 potty training begins with alfalfa and pine pellets- they actually pick this up very quickly! We continue this training with them until they go home at 8 weeks, and we include a bag of alfalfa and pine pellets in our puppy take home boxes so families can sprinkle it in the area of their yard where they want puppy to potty.
🐾 exposure to beds so they can associate bed as a place to sleep (and different from where to potty)
🐾 continued novelty items- new exposures to their space daily to help familiarize them with “foreign objects.” Thus far, these are stationary items like a bucket, rolled up towel, etc.
Three of these females remain, and many conversations of interest are happening. Don’t forget that in order to reserve a pick, a deposit must be placed.

This was taken Monday when we had a few hours of snow on the ground here in Texas!
Consequently, these puppies were sharing their building with all our dogs who we kept warm and dry during this abnormal-to-Texas temps! This worked perfectly because they were scheduled to start loud noise exposures this week and the added company definitely accomplished that task! ✔️
Big mile markers happen next week in their third week- potty training begins, as well as novelty item exposure and puppy mush! Stay tuned for updates.

A puppy that cries is either hot, cold or hungry. So our puppies who are not crying here… means their temperature is just right, and Momma is keeping their bellies full.

These 8 puppies had their vet check today! We do this right before take-home day and the vet checks for heart murmurs, umbilical hernias, and digestive worms so that we can go ahead and start deworming if necessary.
The puppies rode in a crate on the way to the vet, and then this was our first time using this wagon for transporting them in and out. We suggest all new puppy owners to keep “four off the floor” until 16 weeks old when vaccinations are complete. This can help prevent Parvo and other serious diseases until a puppy is fully vaccinated.

Doing some house training and Daddy-daughter socialization training tonight between these two. This is Rose, born from Rio and Nia January 30. She has a phenomenal temperament and from a very young age showed high intelligence and an eagerness to please. The longer we keep her and continue the training, the more her value and cost will increase, so if you’re interested in an older pup, contact us via our website. Lots of benefits come with an older puppy who has all vaccinations and a good base of training.

Open door crate training is in process!
We spend a few weeks letting puppies explore open door crates so they begin to associate it as a safe place to go and rest. Eventually we will work up to an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening with the door closed so that when they go home, they already have a good foundation for seeing their crate as a safe and good place to rest.

One new thing we are doing at Reinberg is having scheduled visitation days and scheduled take home days. This allows us to minimize the exposure of our puppies to outside germs, and better streamline the service we provide for prospective clients and families who are choosing their puppies. Here are the details:
Next visitation: Friday September 15 at 10:30AM
This visit will last approximately one hour, and will allow people considering a puppy to view our current litter without handling the puppies yet. Please note that this is a SEE AND NOT TOUCH visit. This is so hard to enforce because these puppies are incredible cute and cuddly, but we want to keep them as safe as possible during these early weeks when they are more likely to catch viruses or diseases.
For those who place a deposit to reserve a puppy from Leeli and Rio's Autumn Litter of Green Gables, the take home day is scheduled for Friday October 6.
Please contact us via the form on our website if you plan to come to visitation day so we can send you instructions for how to enter our property through our sanitation protocols to ensure the safety of the puppies. We also ask that you please avoid any visitations to vet clinics, dog parks, pet stores, etc. the 72 hours prior to your visit.

Three weeks old brings with it some changes- this is when we begin the potty training process! We add a tray of pine and alfalfa pellets that will begin the process of teaching puppies to potty on organic material. We also send home a bag of this material with families so they can sprinkle it in a certain place in their yard where they want to train puppy to go potty. It’s phenomenal how quickly they will pick up this habit!

We love seeing updates on where our Reinberg family is now and this is Leo, who was born this past January to Nia and Rio on the first day of the ice storm here in Texas! At 75 pounds he is on track to be similar to his Daddy in size. I’d say he shares his father’s majestic air, wouldn’t you? ✔️

We started their loud noise exposures today! We begin very briefly so as not to overwhelm them.

What has our newborn litter been up to the last few weeks? Here’s a snapshot!
We do Early Neurological Stimulation (developed by Carmen Battaglia) on all our litters. These exercises are each performed for 3-5 seconds and then puppy is quickly returned to their box. We are careful not to over-handle them at this stage.
The benefits of ENS include:
🐾Improved cardio vascular performance (heart rate)
🐾Stronger heart beats
🐾Stronger adrenal glands
🐾More tolerance to stress
🐾Greater resistance to disease
We also track their response to these exercises, whether or not they protest to a mild, medium or great degree. It’s neat to see them relax and grow through these few weeks!

Our Rio stays indoors most of the time and is gentle around our four kids, ages 10, 8, 4 and 8 months. And he waits for people to come in at this spot when I give him the command.
But if we aren’t here and someone comes through that door…I doubt he would be so friendly if it’s someone he does not know. We’ve had him crated before when someone has come over and they said his bark shook the house 😂
But we don’t crate him any longer. I know he’s not bullet proof but I always feel better knowing he’s here.
So yes, companion AND protector.

We wanted our litter theme to be specific and special to our family, and although we originally planned on something baseball ⚾️ themed, this litter being mainly female changed that idea!
Since we are currently reading Anne of Green Gables, we found it a fitting theme for this litter whose take-home date will be in October! 🍁

These, of course, are temporary names and each family who chooses a puppy will be able to name him/her what they desire. Excited to see how their personalities flourish!

We LOVE hearing how our puppies are doing in their homes! Just received this update about this beautiful girl:
“Hey Jami! I’ve been meaning to update y’all on Koda’s progress! She is growing up so fast! Currently around 42 pounds. She knows sit, lay down, stay, come, and even search (for her treats that we hide). She is fantastic on a leash and gently with children. She is so loving and intelligent. It has been an amazing experience in these first 13 weeks!”
These girls had a fun photo shoot with @imagekeep recently! We have three older female puppies (2 shown here) who are significantly discounted so we can find their new homes soon. These older puppies have received a great beginning in potty training, leash training, sitting and waiting to be fed as well as approached- they’re doing so well! This breed, when bred correctly, truly is fun to train- they are so intelligent and eager to please!
Here is a 3 year old female we rehomed last month who is thriving!
We originally bought her to be a brood female, but after seeing some digestive issues, we chose not to breed her but instead to find her a great home.
We don’t breed just any two dogs. We have high standards that we hope will ensure puppies that excel in two main areas: temperament and health. If those are compromised, we choose not to breed, no matter the cost or sacrifice.
We hope to have our next litter confirmed mid-July. If pregnant, Leeli will be due mid-August with pups able to go home mid-October. Her last litter sold quickly, so message us if you want to place a deposit to reserve a pick. ✔️❤️💙

The males go quickly around here! Three male pups went to their new homes this week and now we have 6 little girls left! Two ready to go home at 8 weeks old and the others can go home May 7 or after. 💕

This guy went to his forever home today! Niko is clearly in great hands and loving his new family!
Well, this litter has a story with it! I woke up at 5am on DST Sunday to find that this momma delivered three of these puppies on her own while we slept! I then helped her finish delivering while the girls slept (Nick and the boys were snow skiing in Colorado)! She did a phenomenal job and the puppies, now almost two weeks old, are thriving and doing well!
And guess what- they are all females! One is already sold, but if you’re wanting to add a female puppy to your life, send us a message. They can go home mid-May.
We also have three puppies now able to go home from our January litter- one male and two females. 🤍🐕
Meet Luna! She came from our October litter, and at 4 months old is a healthy 40 pounds! Here’s what her family had to say in their review:

This sweet Christmas puppy is the final one waiting to fill a stocking this Christmas! She as actually sold a long time ago, but the family that chose her experienced some circumstances that required them to push their deposit to a future litter and wait until 2023. Excited to see which home she joins for the holidays- she’s a calm, sweet girl!
Took these 🎄 puppies to the vet today and they got an outstanding report! 4/5 are sold…only one female remaining. We also are taking deposits already for our next two litters coming at the beginning of February, able to go home 8 weeks later. 🎉
